Firefighter of the year

CAPTAIN Paul O'Kosky II

STILLWATER- Mayor Ernest Martin and the Village of Stillwater Board of Trustees recently honored Captain Paul O’Kosky, II as the Stillwater Fire Department’s “Firefighter of the Year.”  This year’s prestigious award was given to Captain O’Kosky for his ability to educate and train the fire department personnel, offer guidance on important decisions, and dedication to the company as an officer.  Mayor Martin presented O’Kosky with a plaque at the department’s annual installation banquet held in February at the Old Mill Restaurant.

Five other Stillwater firefighters were also honored at the dinner.  Past chief and current company Trustee Joe Fitzpatrick was honored for 40 years of service to the village fire department; Assistant Chief Tony Conti was recognized for 15 years; Chief Shane Mahar and Captain Paul O’Kosky, II for 10 years; and Secretary Amy VanArnum and Firefighter Teddy Thrane for 5 years.
